New Album
The Band
Barefoot Hockey Goalie has been a hardworking band for the last 32 years. Really. We never took a break. We just made a new album. We want to make another one. We will come play in your town. We like this!
Starting as a two-piece, Toe Knee Padderelli and Berto Catch played their rock opera, Darius, in numerous venues in San Diego. As a four piece, BHG played Street Fairs and music showcases, toured the west coast and became known for their unique blend of rock theatre.
With two releases on Accretions Records and the self released albums An Interview with Thomas Edison and Kid Champion, BHG remained on stage, sharpening skates, crossing the blue line. Their fourth rock opera is an attempt to smack listeners with a suburban punch and get them out to see a show!

Pre-internet Clairemont puts you firmly in the throes of suburbia, where radio is king. Follow the plight of Ian Golden Peterson as he navigates a filterless childhood and espouses suburban exceptionalism. Fast forward to the present as the consequences of neglect and indulgence bring Ian to consider his travails in the context of the infamous Clairemont tank ride of 1995. Can a homecoming help secure his comeback? Is this the last one?
Felt so good, and it does feel right. What a great adventure you've offered! Not a single misstep (not that I expected one), just beautiful songs played, sung and produced to perfection. It's a knockout. Remember the 'Welcome to Clairemont' sign as you started up Clairemont Drive from 1-5? I lived on the top of that hill. I guess that's just saying you make me sorta proud to have been there. Clairemont is fucking thrilling, entirely glorious! More please.

— Edwin Decker · SLAMM Magazine
"This is crazy, unexpected and a whole lotta fun in a very twisted way."
— Jason Plender · Ink 19
"It is more than a little pleasing to run into a band that is actively taking risks, rather than working the verse-chorus-verse thing to death."
— Philip Dawdy · SLAMM Magazine
"Only Barefoot Hockey Goalie is likely to have the distinction every American Artist craves: to be worshipped by the French in the same way they worship Jerry Lewis."
— David Moye · Night&Day / San Diego Union-Tribune
"BHG brilliantly combines elements of funk, rock, lounge, and punk through real guitar playing… and gorgeous tenor vocals."
— J.H. · Snackcake!
"The performance was accentuated with a multitude of costume changes and props that never seemed gimmicky or overshadowed the music. Indubitably the best show of the month."
— Coleman · Rhythmic Review
